Sanjaya on American Idol

UPDATE: On April 18th, Sanjaya was voted off American Idol. Of course, now American Idol will become really boring for the rest of the season.

I've tried hard to avoid American Idol this year. (Better things to waste my time on, I suppose.)

I watched a lot of the audition episodes (mostly to see the freaky people that the producers want to make fun of) but I found the contestants to not be that great this year. (I'm still a little bit irked that Mandisa was voted off early last year.)

But it seems every time I turn on the news, Sanjaya is there.

And not just the local Fox affiliate news.

All of them.

The world just can't get enough of Sanjaya.

Whether it's his hair, or his inability to sing on key, he's there.

And people keep calling in for him.

Now I don't think it's Howard Stern. That man's ego is bigger than his audience.

Maybe it's the Indian Americans that are doing it. From what I've seen of Bollywood movies, talent seems to be optional. (And the hate email starts pouring in....)

But someone is calling in for Sayjaya.

Will this madness ever stop?
