Spymac Update
Over the summer, Spymac touted their new features and look that would be coming in September. Well, it's October, and it's time to see how they're doing.
First, for those that don't know, Spymac is a community site that got started as a news/rumors site for all things Apple. It later became more of a community-driven site that offered its members email. It later developed into a portal offering not only email, but a community forum, community photo-gallery, user blogs, as well as offering web hosting.
So September 1st came. And went. Without this New Spymac 4.0. On September 2nd, they left a notice on their site saying that it would be a while before they got things sorted out. And they did. Partially.
It's now been over 45 days since the September 1st rollout. What they have functioning on their new system are the news, webmail, and the community forums. What they haven't finished yet are the user blogs, and user photo-galleries. The javascript pop-up says on the non-functioning parts of the site:
This service is currently unavailable while we migrate to our new system. Please try again later, and keep watching Spymac.com for the latest information.
Again, 45 days.
Spymac isn't a fly-by-night operation. They've got employees. Programmers.
So this roll-out was extremely premature.
