Locke's Lost Hope

Lately I've been feeling a lot like Locke in the May 10 episode of Lost. Locke, who spent most of the season determined to press the button in the hatch, has now learned that he did it for nothing; it was an experiment for others to watch. And Locke feels like his whole "pathetic little life" was wasted. I know how he feels.

What if everything you've done in life has been wrong? (wasn't there a Seinfeld episode about this?) And what if you finally realize it? What do you do? Do you keep on doing the same things, or do you make changes? Are the changes incremental, or do you just jump in head first?

So Locke, the rationalist, realizes that all has been for naught. Eko, the spiritualist, disagrees and says that pushing the button is more important than ever. I personally disagree with Eko. But this is Lost after all. What if the test is just beginning? What if now, after John found out that the button is a red hering, that bad things will happen if the button isn't pushed? If any of the people of Dharma are there on the island, they know that someone was in the Questions room. Locke did send the map up the vacuum tube. (Was it subconscious? Is something else going on there?)

And is Season Three going to be about John finding the other 'Labs' (the one's whose cameras didn't work.)? If they even exist. That could be part of the test, too. Maybe searching for the rest of the labs will be Locke's way of finding what he lost.

Anyways, it was a good episode. Things are changing. Libbey's dead now, as well as AnaLucia. Charlie made a cameo. Still no Claire. Or Desmond. (What happened to him, they guy who was manning the hatch before it was opened by our Lostees?) Only two episodes left this season!
