FireFTP for Firefox

One of the problems I've had on my iMac is finding a decent FTP (file transfer protocol) program that runs on OS 10.2. (I can't upgrade to anything newer on this machine.)

Many of the FTP programs, at least the really good ones, are designed and coded for 10.4. I understand why it's that way, but it has left me out in the proverbial cold.

So I've done most of my FTPing on my Windows computer; only using my iMac for such tasks when I had to using cyberduck. Cyberduck works okay for uploading single files, but I've found batch uploading a pain.

Then I discovered FireFTP which is a Firefox extension that puts an FTP program in a browser tab.

From the site:
FireFTP is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers.

I've played with it a bit this morning and it seems to work. Drag and drop work (which is what I wanted) and the ability to select your starting directories is great, especially on the Mac, which can get convoluted.

I need to upgrade a few zenphoto sites I maintain this weekend, and I think I'll do that on my iMac to test this extension out.
