Those restaurant smells
Day 1 of 90.
So this evening I took a walk through town. It was about 6pm and the hustle 'n' bustle of the day was dying down. It wasn't too cold; quite nice, actually, in a sweatshirt. No rain.
I've walked a lot over the last couple of months, but tonight was the first time I actually smelled anything. Anything other than the sewage treatment plant next to the city park. (Seriously, it's right by the park. And at times it can get quite ripe out there.)
But tonight I noticed the restaurants before I got to them. The first was a Mexican place. Refried beans half a block down. For some reason, I found that smell quite refreshing. Some sort of known quantity for me. I do love Mexican food.
It was another story a block down. The Thai food place had this bitter smell to it. It wasn't the garlic, though, something far more pungent and unappealing. And it wasn't the smell you notice when you walk in. (Maybe that's what the incense if for.)
I couldn't smell the Chinese restaurant I walked by. I haven't been in there in years, though. And I usually only went there with people I didn't want to be around.
A pizza place had that comforting cheese smell wafting around it. Nice.
And KFC was nauseating.
(And I tried to get in 20,000 dedicated steps, but was about 300 steps shy.)

I only like pizza places
I only like pizza places that make greek style pizzas. Other than that, Boston Market is my fav.
Tomorrow, if you were to walk by my house...you would smell BBQ. I plan to grill some of DinDin3.

Don't those smells just tempt?
It isn't the sight of food that tempts me most .... it is the smell that gets my juices flowing.
Bacon is the worst (best?) for it - I just can't resist when that smell wafts across my nostrils.
The horrible thing is though that the junkier the food, the more likely the smell is to carry in the wind.

It's so funny how true that
It's so funny how true that is about how the junkier the food the more likely the smell is going to waft and ultimately tempt me. It seems like I sometimes eat with my nose more so than my eyes...or stomach for that matter. But when do I ever eat with my stomach?

Love those smells!
Love this - it makes me think of this place that I can never find but can always smell. Whenever I drop my son off at the studio for his guitar lessons I open the door to this amazing smell of fresh baked cookies. There has to be a bakery or cookie maker around somewhere close by but I've yet to find it! Mark
