emmy2008 - Comedy Actors (Lead, Guest, Supporting)
Admittedly, I'm not a fan of half-hour comedies in primetime (though I do enjoy reruns of M*A*S*H* from time-to-time) so a lead actor nomination for Pushing Daisies makes these categories a little more interesting for me.
Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series
- Alec Baldwin (Jack Donaghy, 30 Rock)
- Tony Shalhoub (Adrian Monk, Monk)
- Lee Pace (Ned, Pushing Daisies)

- Steve Carell (Michael Scott, The Office )
- Charlie Sheen (Charlie Harper, Two And A Half Men)
Wouldn't if just be cool if Lee Pace won for Pushing Daisies? That's my dream, at least. But if he doesn't win, I can live with Alec Baldwin winning. What I would hate to see is Steve Carell winning. I can't stand his character. Or that show.
Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series
- Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold, Entourage)
- Kevin Dillon (Johnny Drama, Entourage)
- Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson, How I Met Your Mother)

- Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute, The Office)
- Jon Cryer (Alan Harper, Two And A Half Men)
I really don't understand the buzz/hype around Entourage. And, as you probably noted above, I have strong feelings against The Office. Two and a Half Men I could care less about. And that leaves How I Met Your Mother. And thankfully the best actor from that show has a nomination here.
Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series
- Rip Torn (Don Geiss, 30 Rock)
- Will Arnett (Devin Banks, 30 Rock)

- Steve Buscemi (Len, 30 Rock)
- Tim Conway (Bucky Bright, 30 Rock)
- Shelley Berman (Nat David, Curb Your Enthusiasm)
So... did 30 Rock have a lot of guest stars this year?
Will Arnett was the only one I saw, but I did enjoy his character (well, he was a bit creepy.)

Jeremy Piven
Let me try and persuade you to give Entourage another go. Jeremy Piven is absolutely magnificent in the role of Ari Gold, and deserving of his award. (For the third time running, I thing I'm right in saying)
