Google Goes Chrome

So Google finally made it into the browser wars. The company that seems hell-bent on taking the world away from Microsoft (I guess I can't really complain about that) has released a beta version of Chrome. I have yet to check it out since it's only available for Windows and I rarely use my old dying Dell anymore. (I will say that the tabs in the screenshot look damn ugly.)

Chrome Features.

I wonder if Chrome requires Windows XP Service Pack 2? I still haven't upgraded to that on my nearly dead Dell or my Dell ancient laptop.

I only installed chrome to check web design compatibility. I still prefer firefox because of its add ons. But I also noticed that chrome has faster browsing speed as compared to IE and firefox.

Until they get a Mac version out, I'll have to hold off to try it.

Come on , Google! You're just down the freeway from Apple!

I love Google Chrome. Web pages load quick as well as the program itself. If a tab crashes the browser and the other tabs remain intact. Can't wait for some more decent add-ons, Firefox is king in that department. In general, it's good for those that just want to view the web - definitely worth the try out.

I think Chrome is a great tool! I use Firefox as it has a better range of functions but i hope Chrome will improve with time. The one dislike i have is that Google tempts you into downloading Chrome with their third party partners.

I must admit I am a Firefox fan however I have been using chrome to test sites we develop and must admit I am growing to like it. Many of my customers are now using Chrome so it shows its popularity is growing. I only use IE now for checking sites, In order I would say
1.Firefox
2. Chrome
3. IE

I'm still using Mac OS 10.4.10 and last I checked Chrome didn't support this ancient system smiley

I don't use Windows enough to actually download it to try it out. (Hell, I'm not sure I even have XP Service Pack 2 installed on that machine.)

I'm getting ready to give Linux Mint Debian Edition a spin (once I get a faster internet connection going) and I'll definitely try out Chrome on that.
