A new Battlestar Galactica Movie?

Bryan Singer is set to make a Battlestar Galactica movie that's a re-imagining of the 1970's series.

Oh, Gods. Tell me it aint so!

So after an amazing four years of the re-imagined series on SciFi, we get to watch another re-imagined attempt at the theater?

I feel so cheated right now. I seriously hope this is a joke.

News about Sci-Fi's Caprica

See if you can 1) follow along, and 2) see the logic in this.

According to tvguide Caprica, the Sci-Fi channel's prequel to Battlestar Galactica will premier on DVD April 21, 2009.

The series, of which 22 episodes have been ordered will air in 2010.

So DVD pilot April 2009.

Does that make a lick of sense to anyone?

tvTonight - Friday January 16, 2009

About frackin' time! Battlestar Galactica returns for the last half of its final season. Now that they found Earth, what do they do next? Is Starbuck really the harbinger of death? Who's the final Cylon? What about the prophesy about Roslin dying before finding Earth? And right now I'm predicting that the Colonials and the Cylons head back to Kobol to make it their new home.

Friday Night Lights (the little show that could) returns to NBC in its third season premier. Flashpoint has some girl-on-girl action, but not that kind. And NUMB3RS has a Hollywood tourist bus hijacking, complete with ransom demands.

It's actually quite the Friday night for TV.

Mary McDonnell on Grey's Anatomy November 13

mary mcdonnellFor those Mary McDonnell fans, she'll start her three episode arc on November 13 playing a doctor with Asperger's syndrome. (Here's an interview with her at ew.com.)

Also Mary related, the November 3 issue of TV Guide has a list of the top 10 most memorable 'tv' presidents and Mary's Laura Roslin came in at #9.

#9?

Oh, come on! She should be in the top 5! After all she had to do and suffer with for these four seasons, she deserves more than #9! She even had people shoved out of airlocks! (Sure, they were cylons, but still....) (And the real William Jefferson Clinton came in at #1.)

Mary McDonnell on Grey's Anatomy

Battlestar Galactica's Mary McDonnell is reported to appear in a multi-episode arc of Grey's Anatomy!

First Kevin McKidd, now Mary McDonnell. Two amazing actors that I may have to watch this show for!

(And any thoughts on which Grey's Doctors Mary will push out the airlock first? I'm thinking Izzy.)

Battlestar Galactica "Revelations"

Just finished watching Revelations, the final episode of the first half of the final season. I'll have more comments soon, but I have to say that the ending was just like I thought it would be. Pretty bleak.

Battlestar Galactica's All Along the Watchtower

So who do you think the final Cylon is? Comment below!

Apparently the Bob Dylan song that the four Cylons hear is "All Along the Watchtower" - you can read the lyrics here.

This begs the question - is the fifth and final Cylon alluded to in the lyrics?

Ronald D. Moore has said that the final Cylon is someone we know, but not one of the major characters. So that leaves out people like Starbuck and Lee and Baltar.

Yet I keep thinking that the song does refer to Baltar.

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Wouldn't that be Baltar's 'harem?' And Baltar as a Prince? It doesn't really apply to Gaeta or Dualla. For a while I thought the Fifth would be that Oracle from New Caprica. Or how about Boxey? (On second thought, no.)

I guess perhaps guessing is futile.
