Consumer Depot hard drive prices a bit too high?

So I'm thinking about upgrading an old hard drive (20Gsmiley to a larger one, and was doing some looking online when I came upon this:

Price seems a bit steep for 80GB, don't ya think?

ISP issues

Been having some ISP issues lately. I can't connect to my main connection on my computers, so I'm using my back-up Juno account on my Dell. And quess which computer all my work is on? That's right, my Apple.

Maybe I'm the Computer Whisperer

I seriously can't figure out my Dell computer. Back in December, it died on me. Then a few months later it started working. And now...

It works fine.

Really. It works. I defragged the hard drive and it's working like nothing ever happened to it. Programs open as they should. It turns on fine, sleeps, restarts. All the files seem to be intact. In fact, I'm typing this post on my Dell. (And you can find my other Dell posts here.)

That Idiot Dell Sales Rep

No, I'm not talking about a sales rep that wanted to sell me a Dell computer. I'm talking about this idiot who left a comment on my site yesterday that I deleted.

(This is not an "I hate Dell" post, either.)

Seriously, this guy was clueless.

Goodbye Dell, Hello Mac Mini!

FedEx delivered my modem. I got the box, opened it to make sure it was in fact the modem, then slapped the return FedEx label and dropped it off at the FedEx terminal.

Last week, on the day I received my Mac Mini, I trekked over to an Apple Store and picked one up. Since the Mac Mini doesn't come with a modem, and you really need something to connect to the internet, I had to have one.

So right now my old Dell, the one that had the hard drive crash back in December, then started to work again, albeit slowly, now sits in the corner, alone, disused.

I just don't understand my Dell computer...

If you've been following my trials and tribulations regarding my Dell computer, you'd know that it crashed in December of '06. (If you don't, click on Dell or computer up above next to the yellow star for the posts on it.)

Yesterday I accidently turned it on. It was sitting on the floor next to the other Dell that I'm using all plugged in and ready to go. I turned on the other Dell seconds later. And they both started were ready to go at about the same time.

Got my Dell working

Somehow I managed to get my old Dell computer working. The one that died on me in December.

I decided to 'try again' to get the blasted thing working. So this morning I plugged it in and managed to get to the screen where I had the option to start it in Safe Mode. (In December, I couldn't even get to that screen.) To I selected "Safe Mode" and a couple minutes later a system check showed up on the bottom of the screen.

the computer gods hate me

my dell laptop froze on me today.

This after my dell desktop's hard drive crashed.

This is really a crappy month.

At least I have my trusty iMac (knock on laminated plastic that resembles wood).

My Hard Drive is Dead

It's official. My hard drive is dead.

I took it out and put it in another computer and got the same "primary hard disk drive 0 not found" error.

And I've been in a pissy mood all day.

What I lost: All my web development files. I had a localhost webserver set up so I could check out content management systems and create themes. All gone. The new theme for this site, gone.
