The Facts of Lost?

Tagged as:

Just thinking about Lost (and reading some Doc Jensen) and got to wondering - is Lost really an alternate version of The Facts of Life?

You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

...
When the world never seems
to be livin up to your dreams
And suddenly you're finding out
the Facts of Life are all about you, you.

...
You got the future in the palm of your hands
all you gotta do to get you through is understand
you think you rather do without,
you will never make without the truth
the facts of life is all about you

So it wasn't Jakob...

RussellIt seems I'm really good at picking the runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance! Russell won this season's competition, and I guess I can't really complain.

Overall, this was a great season, and I can't wait to see what season 7 will bring.

Rooting for Jakob on sytycd finale!

jakob karrThe season 6 finale of So You Think You Can Dance is almost here (and this show is my favorite reality show) and four hours before I see the results (though they'll be available online before the show airs on the West Coast) I hereby predict that Jakob Karr will win.

Of course, I predicted Travis Wall would win a few seasons ago....

The Cleveland Show Initial Thoughts

Tagged as:

I started watching The Cleveland Show and then somewhere between the talking bear and Cleveland telling Federline (I think it was a take on Kevin Federline - and I don't care if I misspelled anything there) I completely lost interest in the show.

In fact, I found it pretty much horrible. So bad, in fact, that it made miss King of the Hill - a show that I never really liked.

Hell, American Dad was more enjoyable than The Cleveland Show. And that's saying something!

I did enjoy Family Guy. Didn't make sense, but had a great time on Brian and Stewie's journey.

So anyone else not like (or actually did enjoy) Cleveland?

Forget Dancing! NCIS returns and NCIS: Los Angeles premiers! I don't have as high a hope for LA, it still should be fun.

Over on ABC, we have the premier of The Forgotten, which stars Christian Slater, last seen in that NBC show called... ummm... you know.... that show. For some reason, I don't have a lot of hope for The Forgotten. It's about Slater, a former detective, who leads a group of amateur detectives in identifying murder victims. While it sounds interesting, one has to wonder if ABC can pull off a crime drama (it's only exception of late is Castle.)

The Good Wife is CBS's entry for Lawer Show. Can't say the show's premise (wife of a disgraced politician begins a new life for herself) appeals to me.

The new TV series really begins to pick up steam tonight! Fox has the season premiers of both Bones and Fringe. NBC's comedy lineup is all new, too.

CW has new Vampire Diaries and Supernatural and CBS gives us the premier of Survivor: Samoa. (Can't say I'm into Survivor.)

Discovery, however, seems to be getting desperate for reality shows. Tonight it has Man Vs. Fish. Seriously. Catfish.

It's kinda sad when my best picks for a night includes The Beautiful Life. ABC has its reality shows (of which I'm not a fan) and CBS gives us repeats gearing up for next week. (I think a few shows will have their season premier then).

NBC has America's Got Talent. I've been avoiding this show ever since I heard Hasselhoff was going to sing. Actually, it was earlier than that. Like, before the season began.

FOX, however, has potential tonight. So You Think You Can Dance has more auditions, followed by Glee.

Over the last couple days I've mentioned The Jay Leno Show and it's idiot guests. Can't really do that tonight. Robin Williams in on and, although he can be a bit weird, doesn't fall into the idiot category. Miley Cirus is also on. (Guess I could put a stripper pole reference here....)

In the reality show irony department, we have the season premier of Biggest Loser, where people strive to lose weight and live better, and the season fine of More to Love, which I've never seen but seems to say being fat and waiting to die of congestive heart failure is perfectly fine.

So Monday's The Jay Leno Show had the idiot Kanye West. Tonight's show (no pun intended) has the idiot Tom Cruise. Yeah, Jay's show is off to a great start. (And I like Jay!)

Does anyone really watch ABC's summer reality shows? And will admit it?

NCIS has last season's finale - where Ziva is asked to leave NCIS and is later tortured. Good times.
